Late on Monday night/early Tuesday morning, a photo posted by Kehlani in a hospital bed with an IV in her arm indicated that the R&B singer had attempted suicide. This came hours after Kehlani was the subject of criticism for allegedly cheating on Kyrie Irving with her ex-boyfriend rapper/singer PARTYNEXTDOOR.
The caption of the picture reads:
“Today I wanted to leave this earth. Being completely selfish for once. Never thought I’d get to such a low point. But.. Don’t believe the blogs you read.. No one was cheated on and I’m not a bad person.. Everyone is hurt and everyone is in a place of misunderstanding.. But as of today I had no single wish to see tomorrow. But God saved me for a reason, and for that.. I must be grateful. Cuz I’m not in heaven right now for a reason.. On that note… Bye, Instagram.”
Whatever the truth of the original situation is, it’s obviously reached a point beyond any laughing matters and this is another incident in which people take things too far.
Who knows if Kehlani solely was driven to do this because of criticism from the internet, but lets keep in mind the people involved in this are real people with emotions and feelings just like anybody else.
They might be richer and more famous, but they’re just as human as the people hiding behind keyboards criticizing their worth as human beings.
Hopefully this can be a lesson for some people to remember that stuff like this is not a game.
It’s definitely a dramatic turn of events, and the bottom line of the story is at least Kehlani is OK.
