What a night for the Kavcic family! Twin brothers, seniors Jake and Andy Kavcic, dominated the game.
Jake, the senior quarterback, threw for three touchdowns and ran for two touchdowns, while Andy, the senior running back, ran for one touchdown and caught two touchdowns on the way to a 41-10 victory over Hawken.
“To win against Hawken is always big, always big for the school, big for the community, and the atmosphere was great today,” said Jake Kavcic.

Added Andy Kavcic, “Jake was able to scramble out of the pocket and find me a little bit for some receiving touchdowns, that was pretty cool. It was fun, electric, it’s all great.”

Gilmour got on the scoreboard with a first quarter short touchdown run by Jake Kavcic to take a 7-0 lead. Hawken answered with a field goal late in the first quarter by Julian Javoris to make the score 7-3.
Gilmour added another touchdown late in the first quarter when Jake Kavcic scored on a 12 yard touchdown run to make the score 13-3.
With 8:39 left in the first half, Hawken’s Donovan Moorehead threw a 16 yard touchdown pass to Charlie Mallett to make the score 13-10.
After halftime, Gilmour scored 28 unanswered points to get the victory, 41-10.
In the second half Gilmour had four touchdowns.

In the third quarter, Jake Kavcic threw two touchdown passes to Andy Kavcic, and Andy ran for a 72-yard touchdown as Gilmour took a 34-10 lead into the fourth quarter.
The Lancers would score one final touchdown early in the 4th quarter when Jake Kavcic threw his third touchdown pass of the night to Matthew Lambert as Gilmour made the final score 41-10.

Gilmour will next face NDCL at home on September 8th while Hawken also has a home game on September 8th against Edgewood.
