When it comes to getting his team off to a fast start, no one in Major League Baseball is doing it better in 2018 than Indians All-Star third basemen Jose Ramirez.
Friday night in the Indians latest win, a 2-1 decision over the Orioles at Progressive Field, Ramirez socked his 37th homer of the season in the first inning, something that has become all too common this season for Ramirez.
Ryan Milowicki from the Indians baseball Info department tweeted out Friday night just how dominant Ramirez has been in 2018 when it comes to producing runs for the Indians in the first inning of games.
This year Ramirez now has 13 homers and 34 runs batted in in the first inning, both of which lead all of Major League Baseball.
Milowicki points out with still 41 games remaining in 2018, Ramirez already has the most first inning RBI of any Major League Player player since Nolan Arenado had 39 in 2015 (w/COL).
He’s also got the most in the American League since Carlos Guillen had 37 in 2007 (w/DET).
ESPN’s Stats and Info Twitter also has an interesting stat about Ramirez when it comes to what he’s done and his height after he hit his 3rd homer in three days against the Reds.
José Ramírez now has 36 HR this season, the most by a player 5'9" or shorter since Matt Stairs (5'9") hit 38 HR in 1999.

It’s hard to think that at this point Ramriez is not going to be right at the top of the American League MVP voting at the end of the regular season with the year he continues to have.
