For the past five weeks, NFL “expert” reporters told fans that the Browns were practically guaranteed to release Johnny Manziel as soon as the NFL New Year started, at 4 PM of March 9th.
Those same reporters are now saying the Browns will not release Manziel on Wednesday.
The Johnny Manziel era will indeed see its official end this week, I'm told. (Personal request: please be tomorrow.)

#Browns will definitely not waive Johnny Manziel today

#Browns won't make a move regarding QB Johnny Manziel today. Holding out hope some team wants him in trade.

They cite reasons that the Browns may be waiting to see if anyone proposes a trade for Manziel; or that the team is possibly waiting to see if the league suspends Manziel, which could save the Browns some money.
The Browns lost three key starters already, as Travis Benjamin is heading to San Diego, Alex Mack to Atlanta, and Mitchell Schwartz to Kansas City.
We will see if Tashaun Gipson is next to skip town, but for at least one more day, the Johnny Era in Cleveland lives on.
UPDATE: Gipson is signing with Jacksonville.
