According to a report from ESPN’s Chris Mortensen, Johnny Manziel will start Week 14 at home against the San Francisco 49ers. It is expected that Manziel will have the chance to finish the remaining four games of the season as starting quarterback.
Manziel started three games this season, going 1-2 against Tennessee, Cincinnati, and Pittsburgh.
The decision to name him starter, comes after a tumultuous couple weeks, in which Head Coach Mike Pettine demoted the second-year player to third string, due, in part, to a video that surfaced of Manziel partying in his home state of Texas during the bye week.
This comes just a few days after reports came out that three teams, including the 49ers, Cowboys, and Rams were interested in Manziel.
Manziel, in parts of six games this season, has completed 76 of 128 passes for 933 yards, with five touchdowns and two interceptions.
