CLEVELAND– Despite the Indians’ 4-0 win against the Detroit Tigers, it wasn’t all good news for the Tribe on Saturday.
After second baseman Jason Kipnis grounded out in the third inning, he hobbled off the field with a right hamstring injury.
“It’s a mild strain to his hamstring,” bench coach Brad Mills said after the game. “We’ll know a little more obviously tomorrow.”

Throughout the 2017 season, Kipnis has struggled with injuries. He began the year on the disabled list with a strained rotator cuff, and has now missed time because of a stiff neck twice this season, including Wednesday’s game against the San Diego Padres.
Kipnis has struggled against Verlander throughout his career, going just 6-for-55 from the plate heading into tonight’s game. In his first at-bat today, he doubled on a line drive to right field.
