Jacksonville Jaguars come to town, as the Browns continue to search for their first win of the year

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before. The Cleveland Browns are 0-9 and are still looking for their first win of the year. For the second year in a row, the Browns find themselves in the same position: Questions at many different positions, looking for their franchise quarterback, a front office that is on their way out the door. Yep, same ol’ Browns. However, the Jacksonville Jaguars have turned around their bad fortunes, as they find themselves in first place with a record of 6-3.

3 Keys to a Browns victory:

  1. Slowing down the Jaguars running game – Jacksonville is currently first in the NFL in team rushing. As a team, they are averaging 163.0 yards per game, mostly thanks to fourth overall pick Leonard Fournette. But the Jaguars also like to use running backs Chris Ivory and T.J Yeldon. Jacksonville has a very mild passing attack. For the Browns, they need to force the Jaguars to beat them in the air. If they can slow down the running game, they can win this game.
  2. The weather – In many insistences, weather plays a huge factor. That rings true especially in the city of Cleveland. Once again, Sunday will be no different. Today will be a chilly 37 degrees with a 50% chance of snow. It will also be very windy tomorrow with winds up to 20 mph. Give the advantage to the Browns. Why? Even though the Browns are +8.0 underdogs, there will be a lot more running. Again, if the Browns can slow the run down, they can win this game.
  3. Offense – The Browns will have wide receiver Corey Coleman back tomorrow. They also figured out how to use both running backs. Isaiah Crowell and Duke Johnson Jr. gave the Browns a spark offensively against the Lions. Rookie quarterback DeShone Kizer had arguably his best performance of the year. A few questions moving forward. Can Kizer continue to trend up? Can the Browns continue to move the ball on the ground? Will Hue Jackson employ defensive back/hybrid Jabrill Peppers into his offense?
