BOSTON– Cavaliers point guard Isaiah Thomas will not play as the team faces off against the Boston Celtics on Wednesday night. Since Thomas just made his return to NBA action yesterday, dropping 17 points in the Cavs’ 127-110 win over Portland, he will sit out this second leg of the back-to-back.
As he won’t be playing, Thomas declined a video tribute from Boston.
While Thomas has expressed his displeasure with how things ended in Boston, he has gotten some heat from the Celtics faithful. On Tuesday, when a Boston hockey writer came at Thomas on Twitter for not wanting a tribute video, Thomas hit back:
Get over myself huh? Because I would like to actually PLAY & have my family in the arena to appreciate the LOVE the city/organization will show US? It ain’t about me it’s about my family… Ha you get over yourself you dumbass https://t.co/LiqeXUVTwD

It’s hard to disagree with Thomas on this one.
While his return to Boston won’t happen tonight, don’t fret. The Cavs return to The Garden on Feb. 11 in what will be one of the most-anticipated games of the regular season.
