Inside the Lines: Who to Take and Not Take This Weekend in College and Pro Football Action

Ready to see the best odds and plays for the weekend of football? Check out what we think are the best plays for this weekend of both college and NFL action.

NCAAF:

Bowling Green vs. Buffalo

BG – 8.5

Bowling Green hosts one of the nation’s top offenses. QB Matt Johnson leads the country in passing yards at 440 a game and WR Roger Lewis ranks second in receiving. Both teams enter at 2-2 but BG has lost to two really good teams in Memphis and Tennessee. Expect BG to put up some points to win this one.

Toledo vs. Ball St

Toledo -6.5

Toledo comes into the week looking to get ranked after unofficially finishing 26th in the AP poll. Star RB Kareem Hunt might be able to come back and start this week after injuring his hamstring in their double-OT win over Iowa St. Toledo’s stingy defense has allowed 12 or fewer points in two of its three games so far including a road victory at a ranked Arkansas team.

Louisville vs. NC State

Louisville +4

Louisville comes into this game a disappointing 1-3 in a year where most analysts picked them to win nine games or more. They have a couple of close losses to Clemson and Auburn on the year while NC State comes in undefeated without playing any major competition. Louisville looks like they should rebound for a road victory.

Texas vs. TCU

TCU -15

Texas has one of the worst offenses of any major conference team while the Boykin-Doctson combination for TCU is among the countries best. TCU squeaked out a win against Texas Tech last week but I think that was their trap game and will come out strong especially at home against Texas. Boykin should be able to put up 40-something for TCU in a route of rival Texas.

Louisiana-Lafayette vs. Louisiana Tech

LL +17

Louisiana-Lafayette has gone 9-4 for four years in a row with four straight New Orleans bowl victories. This is too talented of a football team to lose by more than 17 to a 2-2 Louisiana Tech team that only beat FIU by ten last week.

Oregon vs. Colorado

Oregon -7.5

I know Oregon got blown out by Utah last week, but they also lost to the now number two team in the country by 3 in East Lansing. Oregon should bounce back strong and win against a Colorado team that lost to Hawaii already this year.
