The Indians kick off the 2019 campaign today. They will play their first spring training game out in Goodyear, Arizona. they face the Cincinnati Reds at 3:05 p.m. eastern on Sportstime Ohio.
The Indians have some injury updates two key players.
Starting pitcher Danny Salazar and outfielder Bradley Zimmer. Zack Meisel of TheAthletic.com tweeted the latest on the two players.
Danny Salazar: Throwing to 90 feet without symptoms. Bullpen and game activity time-frame TBD.
Bradley Zimmer: Batting practice on the field and throwing to 135 with no issues. No time-frame for return to game activity.
The Indians will gladly welcome back Salazar and Zimmer when they are already. The Indians need depth in the outfield and in the bullpen.
Salazar has been a starter his whole career. But the best plan moving forward might be putting him in the bullpen.
