2. Bauer Puts on a Show
Trevor Bauer was very very good on Thursday, mowing the down the Angels in quick fashion in the first four innings, having to throw just 44 pitches as the Indians lead it 1-0.
Then he did get into trouble in the 5th and 6th, allowing a run and traffic on the base paths, but again held Los Angeles to one run to give the Indians a chance.
The 7th inning was the most trouble, as after a Luis Valbuena double it put runners on 2nd and 3rd with no outs, but a ground out, strikeout, and another ground out got him out of the jam as then it was time for the offense to go to work.
With two outs Francisco Lindor got the game-winning hit, and many thought Bauer, who was over 100 pitches by then, would be done.
Not so fast.
He came out in the 8th, and again did a great job, getting the Angels quickly 1-2-3 to not only hold the lead, but make sure the only arm the Indians needed out of the pen was closer Cody Allen in the 9th.
The win puts Bauer at 9-8 on the season.
