1. A Drama Filled Monday?
The Indians will travel tonight to Boston to take on the Red Sox for three games, but most of the attention before the team takes the field at 7:05 Monday will be if this team does anything before the trade deadline.
The deadline is Monday at 4pm, and there’s plenty of speculation on what the Indians may or may not do to try and get better for the stretch run.
Sunday the Royals fired a shot, obtaining a player who has played well against the Indians historically in Melky Cabrera for a couple prospects from the White Sox.
It’s apparent that the Royals, who are going to have a tough time this Winter keeping their core free agents (they have five) are going ‘all in’ for a run at the division with two months to play.
The Royals will not go away quietly, as they won again Sunday and are back to just two games back of the Tribe for the top spot in the AL Central.
Will the Indians counter with a bullpen arm or a utility player as has been rumored? Or will they make an even bigger splash as they did a season ago before Monday’s deadline?
It will be interesting to watch.
