Indians win 99th Game of 2017, Top Twins 4-2; Three Takeaways From the Victory

2. Some Gifts from the Twins

The two-run win for the Indians was helped out in part thanks to two big mistakes from the Twins that wound up turning into runs.

The first came with the Indians up 1-0 and the bases loaded in the fourth. With Yan Gomes at the plate, Twins starter Adalberto Mejia plunked the Tribe catcher on the calf, allowing a run to score.

With the score still at 2-0 the Tribe got another gift in the 5th to extend the lead. With two outs and runners on second and third, Jay Bruce hit a routine grounder to third, and Eduardo Escobar made a bad throw, and the ball got away at first and Bruce was safe.

The play scored the third Indians Mario Coin of the night, and it was needed as the team eventually pulled out the 4-2 win.
