Baltimore Orioles centerfield Adam Jones is a player that has at various times in his career has been rumored to be a possible option to come to the Indians.
Those rumors have heated up again, as today Jon Morosi tweeted out that the Indians are in chats with the Orioles about Jones, who this season is hitting .275 with 10 homers and 33 RBI in 89 games.
Jones was a player that we took a look at earlier this week on the Indians Wishlist, a player that could be a huge addition to the outfield with Lonnie Chisenhall injured and multiple players filling the void in center field.
The Orioles have three players that the Indians might be eyeing with the trading deadline a little over two weeks away – SS Manny Machado is another player garnering a lot of interest, and relief pitcher Zach Britton is another player that could fit what the Tribe is looking for right now.
So if the Indians decide that they want to make a serious run at Jones, what would the Orioles demand for his services?
Jones is a free agent after this season so the Indians won’t give up much, but the usual names that will be linked to any deal involving the Indians include Shane Bieber, Adam Plutko, Tristan McKenzie and even prospect Francisco Mejia.
Adam Jones to #Indians is among the viable trade possibilities as Baltimore and Cleveland continue dialogue on multiple players. Indians looking for a right-handed outfield bat. Jim Leyland raved about Jones’ leadership qualifies in @WBCBaseball. ?? @MLBNetwork @MLB

I certainly hope there is some truth to Adam Jones coming to the #Indians in a trade with the #Orioles. He would be an outstanding solution in CF for Cleveland. Don't know what the price would be.
