Indians Sign Akron Native OF David Lough to Minor League Deal

The Indians today signed free agent OF David Lough to a Minor League contract and assigned him to the Triple-A Columbus roster.

Lough, 31, has spent parts of five seasons in the Major Leagues, compiling a batting average of .254 (190-749) with 29 doubles, 10 triples, 13 home runs and 67 RBI in 342 games with the Kansas City Royals, Baltimore Orioles and Philadelphia Phillies from 2012-2016.

He was signed by the Detroit Tigers in February and appeared in 24 games for the Triple-A Toledo Mudhens in 2017 prior to being released on May 17.

Lough is a native of Akron, Ohio and attended Green High School in Akron. He was Kansas City’s 11th round selection in the 2007 First-Year Player Draft out of Mercyhurst College.
