It’s been a long road back for Indians relief pitcher Andrew Miller, and Saturday the road will lead to an appointment pitching in Lake County.
Miller will have a rehab start with the Indians single-A affiliate Lake County Captains according to manager Terry Francona.
Francona went on to say that the team expects Miller to then make back-to-back appearances on the mound in the minors next week.
Miller threw 35 pitches in a bullpen outing on Thursday, and is getting today off before heading to Classic Park to pitch for Lake County.
If you’re curious why he will throw in Lake County as opposed to Akron (where he threw this past week) or Columbus, it’s due to the fact both those affiliates are on the road and typically a rehab outing is done with whoever is at home.
