CLEVELAND– On Thursday, the Cleveland Indians announced that relief pitcher Andrew Miller has been placed on the 10-day disabled list, the Indians announced via press release.
During Wednesday’s game with the Chicago Cubs, Miller left the game after throwing just two pitches in the seventh inning. Miller has yet to give up a run this season, and is obviously a huge loss for the Tribe bullpen.
The team also annoucned that they have selected the contract of left-hander Jeff Beliveau:
As a result, the Indians have selected the contract of Jeff Beliveau, also announced via press release: Beliveau, 31, has spent the month of April in Columbus, posting 8.2 scoreless innings, limiting batters to a .071 (2/28) average against while fanning 14 Triple-A hitters (8.2IP, 2H, 0R, 1BB, 14SO). He has yet to allow a hit to a left-handed batter in 11 at bats (7 SO). The Warwick, RI native was signed in November 2017 and was a non-roster to Major League camp this spring.
