3. Twelve straight… and counting
The Tribe has now won their twelfth straight game. This streak is currently the longest of the season in all of Major League Baseball.
It’s also the longest for the Indians since they set the club record for consecutive wins at 14, back from June 17-July 1 of last season.
The best part about this streak is that the team continues to click in nearly every aspect of the game.
The starters have posted a combined 1.51 ERA during this stretch, and they have now accounted for 11 of the 12 wins.
Offensively, the Indians continue to outmatch their opponents from the plate. During the streak they have outscored opponents 84-21, and have hit 32 doubles, four triples, and 23 home runs. They’ve also won the last 18 games in which they have scored first.
And more importantly, while they are all focused, they continue to stay loose and have fun. Whether they are adding to #MiniTeamCLE2017, or stealing Andre Knott’s microphone, these guys are fun to watch, and having fun themselves. During the long grind that is the regular season, the importance of this cannot be overstated.
