CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Cleveland Indians will face the Atlanta Braves in front a national audience, as the two teams will play on Sunday Night Baseball on ESPN.
The Indians come into Sunday’s game with a record 12-8 on the season. The Braves are 10-10 on the season. They split a traditional double-header yesterday, the Indians winning game one, with the Tribe having a 7-1 lead in game two but lost 8-7 after giving up five runs in the ninth.
The Tribe will send second year starter right-handed pitcher Shane Bieber to the mound. He is 2-0 with a record of 1.71 ERA. The Braves will send left -handed pitcher Max Fried to the mound. He is 2-0 with an ERA of 0.92.
The Indians are tied for first place with the Minnesota Twins in the AL Central. The Brave are two games back of first place trailing the Philadelphia Eagles.
