CLEVELAND – Remember The midges? Former Yankees pitcher Joba Chamberlain does, and today he got an apology from the Indians, the team he inked a Minor League deal with this morning with a non-roster invitation to Major League spring training camp.
We apologize sincerely, @Joba_44, about the bugs. They won't be back, we promise.

It’s a rather comical way to welcome Chamberlain to the team, but in reality the 30-year-old is an interesting pickup as he looks to continue his MLB career at the age of 30.
The last three seasons with the Tigers, Royals and Yankees haven’t been all that good. In 30 games with the Tigers last season he was 0-2 with a 4.09 ERA.
He was 2-5 in 2014 with the Tigers, and in 2013 was 2-1 in his final year with the Yankees with a 4.93 ERA.
Overall Chamberlain owns a career Major League record of 25-21 with 7 saves over 365 outings/43 starts since debuting with the New York Yankees in 2007 (535.1IP, 528H, 230ER, 528SO).
He was the 41st overall pick in the 2006 First-Year Player Draft by the Yankees out of the University of Nebraska. For the 30-year-old, this could be his last good chance at making a Major League roster, and it will be with the Indians when they report to Goodyear in February.
