Indians Home Opener Against Red Sox Sells Out in 40 Minutes

When the Indians and Red Sox take the field on April 4th at Progressive Field, they will do it in front of the 24th straight sold out home opener at Progressive Field.

The Indians announced today that the opener, as it always has in the history of the ballpark, is sold out. The approx 10,000 tickets took about 40 minutes to sell out today.

Last season there were about 2500 tickets available for the opener against the Tigers, and those sold out in about 11 minutes.

Per the Indians since the Indians in 2009 moved the initial on-sale date to Spring, Opening Day sellouts have become official on March 30 (2009), April 8 (2010), March 24 (2011), March 15 (2012), February 25 (2013) and March 3 (2014, 2015).

As of now the Tribe and Red Sox looks like it will be a battle between two of the top AL pitchers, as Corey Kluber is set for the Indians against David Price for Boston.
