2.) Bradley Zimmer leads the offense early, Indians have another big inning
Bradley Zimmer sparked the Indians offensive by starting the game off with a leadoff homer. The Indians jumped to an early 1-0 lead early and did not look back but battled throughout most of the game.
Yan Gomes hit an RBI single and after the Indians were tied at 1 with the Angels the Indians took the lead back 2-1.
In the 7th inning, former Indian Luis Valbuena hit a homer to tie the game at 2. In the bottom half of the inning, Zimmer hit a two out RBI double and the Indians took the lead once again. Following the hit by Zimmer, the Angels removed their starting pitcher Ricky Nolasco from the ball game.
The Indians once again had another big inning for the third time in the past week. On last Friday the Indians erupted for 7 runs in the 7th inning against the Toronto Blue Jays. In the first game of the series against the Angels, the Indians scored 7 runs in the 2nd.
In the 8th inning, the Indians sent 12 batters to the plate, had 8 hits, and scored 7 runs.
On the previous road trip, the Indians only managed to score 16 runs in 6 games. In three separate games, the Indians managed to score 7 runs in a single inning.
