CLEVELAND – Call it frustration, or maybe just tired of all the negative chatter about their four-game losing streak, but whatever the case the Indians on Wednesday night were in no mood to play around and let the Reds even think about a sweep at Progressive Field.
Led by All-Star Jose Ramirez, the Tribe offense put on a hitting display that was nothing short of a back alley beat down, as the team scored nine runs in the 3rd and another six runs in the 4th to eventually sail to an easy 19-4 win.
Everyone that played in the game minus Brandon Guyer (who only had one plate appearance) had a hit, and the team enjoyed putting up their 19 runs on 19 hits with five extra base hits, four homers, and they hit 11-for-17 with runners in scoring position.
The win put the team back at nine games over .500 at 50-41, and the big night at the plate also gave Carlos Carrasco his 10th win of the season against five losses.
Here’s three takeaways from the win as the team will turn their attention to the Yankees who come to town for four games starting on Thursday night.
