CLEVELAND – He’s bacccckkkkkk.

The Indians have announced they have re-signed free agent utility infielder Michael Martinez, and have sent him to Triple-A Columbus.

Martinez, who is famous for making the final out in game seven of the World Series against the Cubs, will have his fourth stint with the Indians organization following his May 18th trade to the Tampa Bay Rays for cash considerations.

The 34-year-old was designated for assignment by Tampa Bay on June 19 and was later outrighted and declared free agency on June 22. He appeared in 13 games for the Rays following the May 18 trade.

He opened the season on the Indians Major League club, appearing in 15 games (4-for-11) before being taken off the roster on May 14.
