Indians Beat Sox Again 6-3 Behind 10 K’s for Clevinger; Three Takeaways

1. More About Mike

It’s been fun in 2018 to see the development of Indians starter Mike Clevinger, who went 7.2 innings, allowing a run on five hits with 10 strikeouts in the win.

The team has trusted him to go later in games, and that was shown again Tuesday as he threw 114 pitches, the third most in his career.

Clevinger said his mechanics during the game were on, and that he and catcher Yan Gomes were on the same page all night, as he only called him off one time, showing again how important it is to have a good backstop.

On the season Clevinger now sits with a mark of 6-2 with a 3.00 ERA. He’s also on pace to go over 200 innings, which he said was a goal in 2018.
