CLEVELAND – Jose Ramirez and the Indians are doing what they can to send their third basemen to Miami for the upcoming MLB All-Star game in a few weeks.
The Indians popular infielder has closed the gap a great deal to win the vote as the starting American League third basemen, to the point where as of this afternoon he’s only 34,000 votes behind current leader Miguel Sanó from the Twins.
Ramirez has made up made up 370,000 votes since last Tuesday and 170,000 votes since Monday in his bid to try and represent the AL at the third base spot.
This season entering Thursday Ramirez is hitting .322 with 12 homers and 36 runs batted in.
He’s having fun on social media asking folks to remember to vote for him in the final hours before voting ends.
