Browns head coach Hue Jackson made an interesting revelation in an interview which will air Monday on NFL Network.
Jackson talked about Cleveland’s quarterback situation and kept options open heading into the draft.
Specifically, he indicated Brock Osweiler would have the chance to compete for starting quarterback.
“He is,” Jackson said when asked if Osweiler would be part of the team this year.
“Obviously, he’s a player on our team and we’re going to treat him just like we do all of our other quarterbacks until he’s not.
“He’s a guy that’s gonna come in and compete. We haven’t had an opportunity to meet with him from a football standpoint because of the rules. But once we start our offseason program, phase one, we’ll get a chance to know him and he’ll get to know us.”

As it stands, the Browns have Osweiler, Cody Kessler and Austin Davis penciled in as QB options.
The team could address the position in the draft, but for now, Osweiler is in Cleveland’s plans in one capacity or another.
