The Cleveland Browns just might be without star receiver Josh Gordon this Thursday night against the Atlanta Falcons. This information comes from head coach Hue Jackson after practice yesterday evening.
On if Gordon will play on Thursday against the Atlanta Falcons:
Probably not. More than likely not. We’re just working the process, and this is the next step in the process for him to get out, catch balls, start getting involved and running around a little bit.
Jackson and company want to take it slow with Gordon. He is coming off of an injury that sidelined him for several weeks. After returning to practice yesterday, the young receiver just needs to take his time and slowly get back on the football field.
The last time Gordon faced the Falcons was in 2014. It was his first game back after serving a 10 game suspension. He went on and registered 8 receptions for 120 yards and no touchdowns.
It would be an absolute surprise if Gordon doesn’t play a single preseason snap. He will miss the first four weeks of the 2016 season due to a suspension, so gaining some quality preseason snaps will help him get ready for the big week 5 matchup against the New England Patriots.
