The Boys Varsity Soccer Team came away with a solid 3-0 victory over North Ridgeville in the Elyria District Semi-Final on Wednesday, October 24th. Jr Jon Hryszko redirected a long throw-in from Sr Trevor Ohmer for the opening tally @ the 18th minute mark.
Jr Michael Tusick added to the lead in the 35th slotting home a deft little service from Jr Michael Neumann. Sr GK Nolan Kellogg and the Mustang defense held firm in the first half making three critical saves to keep the result @ 2-0 @ the half. Ohmer finished off the scoring in the 65th minute heading home a well placed Jr Kyle Foust cross. Kellogg ended with four saves on the night for his 10th clean sheet of the campaign as the Mustangs moved to 15-2-1 on the season. The Mustangs will face Avon, a 3-1 winner over Avon Lake, @ North Ridgeville HS on Saturday, October 27th @ 7pm. The Mustangs have played in 19 District Finals in the history of the program winning 12 Titles. This will be the 4th time the Mustangs and Eagles have faced each other in District Tournament play w/ Avon taking the measure of Strongsville 3-1 in last years Sectional Final. |
