Senior Rachel Chessar reached the 1,000 career point mark on Monday night in Akron Archbishop Hoban’s 59-52 win over Holy Name (5-7, 2-4), becoming the fifth player in school history to achieve the milestone.

Chessar scored a game-high 25 points in the win, helping the Knights go on a 22-4 run in the third quarter.
Emma Tecca scored 16 points and Lonasia Brewer added 10.
Hoban improves to 6-5 overall on the season and is 2-1 in North Coast Blue Division play.
The Knights have now won four of their last five games and return to action on Saturday afternoon at home for a pivotal match against Padua (10-1, 3-0).

The game will feature some of the region’s star players (two members of the 1,000 point club) and also includes a meeting between former-Hoban Assistant Coach Dan Brown (now Head Coach at Padua) against his old team and Head Coach Scott Callaghan.
Tip-off is set for 2:30 pm on Jan. 14.
