Historic Win Streak Snapped at 22 – Indians Lose to Royals 4-3; Three Takeaways From the Loss

3. Bauer Had to Work

Indians starter Trevor Bauer, who had been sensational for most of the later half of the season, was forced to throw a lot, and the high pitch count hurt him on Friday night, knocking him out early.

The Tribe starter went 5.1, but had to throw 98 pitches to get there, as the Royals really made him work on Friday night. Bauer allowed four runs on 9 hits with a walk and six K’s.

On the positive side he was able to record the six K’s and was able to limit damage throughout the night, but overall it was an effort that was a little more off than the last few from Bauer where he was stellar.

Don’t fall asleep on Bauer, look for him in a few days to rebound and be able to get right back out there with a very good effort on the west coast.
