Week Two saw great slate of high school football games! There were many standout players. We at NEOSI have sorted through the games and found four candidates for this week’s Player of the Week. Voting closes Thursday and winner will be announced then.
Nick Disalvo RB – Rocky River
Rocky River was dominant in their 42-6 win over John Marshall. Talk about a judicious performance, the Pirates Senior running back Nick Disalvo was more than up to the task of subduing River’s foe!
Nick had 2 carries for 48 yards with runs of 29 and 19 yards plus two TDs and he caught 2 passes for 63 yards with receptions of 50 and 13 yards plus two more TDs. The rhythmic clapping and chanting of “NICK DI-SALVO” by the Rocky River student body sends HS football chills down the spine of any fan.
Avery Holt QB – Lakewood
Holt passed for 309 yards and racked up 4 TDs. He caught the game winner on a Philly Special as time expired. Holt went toe-to-to with Clearview’s QB Cy Christensen throughout the entire game. Lakewood pulled off the win 41-40.
Achylles DuPont RB – Paramus Catholic
DuPont had a monster game with 20 carries for 194 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. He also caught two passes for 66 yards and a TD.
The Paladins scored three touchdowns in the fourth quarter to come back and beat Cleveland Heights, 43-41.
Dawson Morgan RB – Rootstown
Rootstown’s senior running back Dawson Morgan is starting the season scorching hot. Morgan followed up his insane Week One performance of 327 yards and six (yes six) TDs -with 25 carries 220 yards and 2 TDs as Rootstown beat Champion 41-0 Week Two.

Why are the votes for Nick DiSalvo not showing up? I know he has several, but it still says 0%.

Hi, yes he does have and the polling site we use the information (percentages shown) aren’t updated til the poll closes. It’s not in real time. I’m working with the developer on that but thank you for asking – as we noticed it as well. All votes are added & I am going to put something in the article to let others know. Thanks again!
