Football season is back in full force across Ohio. There were many great games this weekend and many standout players. We at NEOSI have sorted through the games and found four candidates for this week’s Player of the Week. Voting closes Thursday and winner will be announced then.
Marquise Davis RB – Cleveland Heights
In Friday night’s Tigers 46-21 win over the Berea-Midpark Titans Davis had 4 Td’s, rushing and 1 on a “pick 6” along with an 80-yard interception return. Plus Marquis had another interception. He finished with 228 yards rushing on 21 carries.
DaOne Owens QB – Massillon Tigers
This was Owens’ first game after transferring from Copley. He did not start the game but split time with Jalen Slaughter. Owens had 13 carries with 2 rushing TDs (69yds and 65 yds) with 5 completions for 59 yds.
D’Shawntae Jones RB – Glenville
Jones scored 4 TDs in the second quarter to lead the Tarblooders to victory. The senior rushed 11 times for a total of 133 yards.
Sean Patrick RB – Kenston
Patrick ran for 218 yards on 22 carries for a 9.9 yard average in Kenston’s 50-13 victory over Boardman. His longest run being 43 yards. Patrick also had 2 rushing TDs

Ludwig of Hudson had 5 TDs one of which was a 98 yard kick off return. How is he not a player of the week candidate? They played Highland who was undefeated last year and beat them.
