Week Eight saw a great slate of high school football games! There were many standout players. We at NEOSI have sorted through the games and found the candidates for this week’s Player of the Week. Voting closes Thursday and winner will be announced then. You can come back and vote once daily!
Jordan Johnson – Hawken
Johnson carried the ball 11 times for 101 yards and had three rushing touchdowns. In addition Johnson returned a punt for a touchdown and caught a pass for 48 yards. He was pivotal in the Hawks’ 47-13 victory over the Orange Lions. For the season, Johnson has gained 1,017 yards on 148 carries for an average of 6.9 yards per carry.
Kevin Jordan – Elyria
Jordan had a record breaking night including five touchdowns as Elyria prevailed 46-41 over Amherst. The junior RB broke Elyria’s longstanding single-game rushing record with 334 yards on 30 carries. Jordan also converted a 2-point conversion in the win.
Marquise Davis – Cleveland Hts
Davis finished with 361 yards and six touchdowns. For the second week in a row Davis scored six touchdowns. The Tigers needed each one this weekend as they took down Medina by a score of 62-52
Elbert Hill IV – Hoban
The sophomore DB and returner had a 92 yard kickoff return for a touchdown. Hill also had an interception at the goal line in the Knights heavyweight battle against Glenville. Hoban triumphed 28-16
