STRONGSVILLE, OHIO– Earlier this week Strongsville High School Varsity Basketball Joe Guilfoyle was placed on paid administrative leave after alleged accusations of him physically striking players surfaced.
Strongsville High School looked into the matter and conducted an investigation. They spoke with those involved and came to the conclusion that there wasn’t enough concrete evidence that Guilfoyle had done anything to permit further leave from the team.
NEOSI reached out to Strongsville High School Athletic Department today for further information on the matter.
Communications Coordinator Dan Foust clarified what happened. You can read his written statement below.
“It is the primary focus of Strongsville City Schools to ensure the safety and well being of all of our students. Anytime allegations are made against any employee, they are taken seriously and thoroughly investigated. Varsity boys basketball coach Joe Guilfoyle had recently been placed on paid administrative leave to afford the time necessary to conduct an investigation into alleged misconduct. Based on the facts derived through the investigation, Coach Guilfoyle has been reinstated and will be coaching tonight’s game versus Mentor.”
