Baltimore- Sunday. the Cleveland Guardians started a road trip taking on the Baltimore Orioles. The team has been struggling recently with getting runs across, but this game was an exception.
Pitching
Logan Allen started for the Guardians in a dominating performance making his rookie campaign even better. Allen threw 7 innings while only allowing 3 hits, 0 earned runs and throwing 10 strikeouts! Allen is starting to look like he belongs in the starting rotation even when Civale and McKenzie are back from their rehab starts in the minors. He’s pitching so well that it will be hard a tough decision when the starters return from injury.

Hitting
The Guardians haven’t been the best-hitting team, many of the players have been in a slump. However, this always tends to happen with the teams that Francona has been managing over the past 10 years or so. The teams start to heat up in June and July, however, the team seemed to have a spark yesterday when they had a big 7th inning against the Oriels. The team drove in 4 runs to extend our lead to 5-0.
Looking forward
Cleveland is set to face off against the Orioles Monday tonight for Game 2 of the series as they look to climb the ladder in the AL Central. First pitch is at 7:05 where Cal Quantrill and Kyle Gibson will start on the mound for each side. Quantrill is looking to bounce back from a lackluster performance, hopefully, he can get things going tonight.
