For the first four innings of Saturday night’s game, the Captains and Lugnuts were in a scoreless pitcher’s duel.
However, the Captains got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the fifth inning scoring two runs.
First, in the bottom of the fifth inning with two out, Tyrese Turner tripled.

The next batter, Jake Fox, tripled to drive in Turner from third.

Then the Guardians fourth ranked prospect, Chase DeLauter, drove in Fox from third to give the Captains a 2-0 lead.

The Lugnuts scored a run on a home run in the top of the sixth inning.
The Captains then scored three more runs in the bottom of the seventh when Jake Fox hit a three run home run to give the Captains a 5-1 lead.

Fox led the Captains offensively for the game as he went 3-4, with a single, triple, home run, and 4 RBI. In addition, Dayan Frias was 3-4 with a single and two doubles.
On the mound for the Captains, Guardians 17th ranked top prospect Parker Messick earned the victory by pitching six innings giving up only one run one on eight hits, while striking out seven.
Josh Wolf then pitched two innings of scoreless baseball.
Finally, Magnus Ellerts pitched a scoreless ninth inning.
With the victory the Captains move to 64-64 on the season.
The Captains play their final game of the season on Sunday.
The first pitch is scheduled for 1pm.
