Gomer’s Grand Slam Lifts Indians to 6-4 Win Over Royals; Three Takeaways

The Cleveland Indians won their third straight on Tuesday night, as their winning ways against the Royals continued with a 6-4 win.

The big hit of the night was a grand slam by Yan Gomes that pushed the Indians ahead for good 6-4. Shane Bieber picked up the win, and the pen did the rest in a win that puts the Indians at 47-37 on the season, 10 games over .500.

The Indians would get 2 early runs in the first inning. An RBI single from second baseman Jose Ramirez. First baseman Yonder Alonso with a sacrifice fly to center field.

In the bottom of the first, the Royals would respond. The Royals would tie the game on a 2-run home run from first baseman Lucas Duda. Fast forward to the bottom of the second.

Second baseman Whitt Merrifield would get an RBI single. Followed by an RBI double from shortstop Rosell Herrera.

In the top of sixth inning. A hero was revealed for the Indians, as Gomes hit a grand slam. The Indians would take a 6-4 lead.
