The Parma Lady Redmen Varsity Basketball team won a big home game on Wednesday night, as they topped the Rocky River lady Pirate 60-55.
The win for the lady Redmen puts them at 3-7 in total on the season, 1-3 in the Great Lakes Conference.
The setback for the lady Pirates puts them at 5-5 overall, 3-1 in conference play.
Parma in the win was led by Taylor Rericha, who had 19 points with six assists and five rebounds. Shannon Chamberlin added 18 points for the lady Redmen, as she hit five-of-six from three point land.
Elise Balcer and Amaris DeJesus each added eight points to help the cause for Parma.
The Redmen got off to a 7-0 start in the first quarter, but turnovers plagued the first half and the Pirates went on a 19-1 run to end the first quarter 19-8.
The second quarter was a back and forth offensive battle and the Pirates took a 37-25 lead into halftime.
The Lady Redmen came out energized in the second half and forced 29 turnovers on 17 steals to get themselves back in the game and pull out a 60-55 comeback win.
The Lady Redmen will be back in action this Saturday as they take on Conference Rival Valley Forge at 2:00pm.
The Rocky River lady Pirates will be back on the court on Saturday at 2pm at home against Elyria Catholic.
