The Olmsted Falls Lady Bulldogs continued a great season on Saturday, as they moved to 11-1 (8-0 in the SWC) with a hard fought win over the Amherst Comets 67-56.
The loss for Amherst puts them at 5-3 in the SWC on the season, 8-6 overall.
The Bulldogs got a huge day from Kent State commit senior guard Clare Kelly, as she popped in 28 points in the win.
Sophomore guard Grace Simon also had a big day for Olmsted Falls, scoring 24 points.
Junior Amaya Staton led the way for the lady Comets with 18 points in the loss, hitting nine shots from the field.
Senior guard Kamryn Dziak helped in the effort for Amherst with 11 points, hitting three buckets and four free throws. The Comets were 5-for-9 from the free throw line.
The lady Bulldogs led it 12-6 after one, and had a big second quarter, as they outscored Amherst for a 34-20 halftime advantage.
The lady Comets outscored the lady Bulldogs by two in the third quarter 16-14 to make it a 48-36 Olmsted Falls lead, and the final quarter saw the lady Bulldogs take home the win with a 20-19 win of the fourth quarter.
The lady Bulldogs will be back on the court Wednesday as they take on Berea-Midpark at home in another SWC contest.
Amherst will travel for an SWC game on Wednesday at Avon Lake High School as they take on Avon Lake with a tip at 7:30pm.
