
The Orange Lions headed south on Thursday, and lost a tough game to the Bishop Watterson Eagles 63-42 to fall to 7-3 on the year.
With the win Bishop Watterson moves to 10-1 on the year, 3-0 on their home court.
The Lions hung in with the Eagles despite being outscored in the first 12 minutes 20-9, and by the half they cut the Bishop Watterson lead to seven at 29-22, outscoring the Eagles 13-9.
The second half the Eagles took control, and led 45-27 at the end of three, as they ran past the Lions in the third quarter 16-5 thanks to a number of second half points for the Eagles.
The final quarter saw the Eagles offense continue to thrive with an 18-12 quarter to finish the game with the 63-39 win.
The Lions were led by Mahogany Sanford with 23 of Orange’s 39 points, hitting 4-of-7 from three-point range.
Casey Smith helped the cause for the Lions with 13 points in the loss. Orange will be back on the court on Saturday at 2:30pm as they play host to Harvey.
