AVON LAKE, OHIO – Berea-Midpark started the second half of their season the same way they began the first half: with a solid victory over Southwestern Conference foe Avon Lake.
The Lady Titans (11-1, 10-0 SWC) forced the Shoregals into 28 turnovers and came away with a 51-29 win on Saturday night.
Following her 27-point performance on Wednesday against Olmsted Falls, Berea-Midpark senior guard Lexie Scarton was held to only eight points.
Her dynamic teammate, senior guard Jada Marone, was able to connect for 16, including nine in the second quarter when the Lady Titans took control of the game. Junior forward Kayla Gudel had 10 points, all in the first half.
Avon Lake had a 34-30 rebounding edge overall but could only corral four caroms in the critical second period. The leading scorer for the Shoregals (8-6, 5-5 SWC) was sophomore guard Arianna Negron with seven points.
