GATES MILLS, Ohio- Gilmour had a very successful weekend, as they took the ice twice against Team Ohio. The best high school hockey players in all of Northeast Ohio had a tough time keeping up with the Gilmour Academy Boy’s Prep Team Friday and Saturday. Friday it was a 9-0 victory that saw Gilmour shoot 50 shots and held Team Ohio to 16 saves. Saturday was no different.
The first period led to goals early and often, as Lauri Pajari and Brett Reed both scored within the first ten minutes of the game, highlighting the four-goal first period. The Lancers had a 4-0 lead going into the second period.
The scoring in the second period saw Nick Hawkins answered his teammates with a goal of his own, as Gilmour scored two goals in the period. The third period was much of the same and Gilmour advanced to 2-0 after a 8-0 victory. Michael Carr did the goaltending for the day and provided a shutout of his own.
Gilmour showed this weekend how dangerous they can be. The Lancers look to have an even better season this year. Look for more Boy’s Prep Team action this week, as the Lancers continue to roll.
