Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio- On Saturday the Gilmour Academy Lady Lancers faced off against the Garrettsville-Garfield G-Men with a spot to the Division III State Semifinal on the line.
This past Wednesday the Lady Lancers defeated the Chippewa Chipps by a score of 68-47 to earn their spot in this Regional Final match-up. On the other hand, Garrettsville-Garfield defeated the Ursuline Fighting Irish by a score of 60-50.
The Gilmour Academy Lady Lancers jumped to an early lead over the G-Men after a highly defensive first quarter of play. At the end of the quarter, the Lady Lancers lead the G-Men by a score of 17-8.
The Lady Lancers continued to bring the defensive pressure to the G-Men and only allowed them to score 8 more points in the second quarter.
The Lady Lancers took a 41-16 lead into halftime. Naz Hillmon lead the Lady Lancers with 18 points. Grayson Rose and Lauren Jones were the only girls to score in the half for the G-Men with Rose scoring 7 and Jones scoring 9.
The Lady Lancers scored 19 points as they extended their lead over the G-Men into the final quarter with a score of 60-30. Hillmon scored an additional 10 points, giving her a game total of 28 points.
The Lady Lancers scored an additional 16 points in the final quarter and defeated the G-Men by a score of 76-46. The Lady Lancers finished the game with 7 three pointers.
Emily Kelley scored her first points of the game for the Lady Lancers in the fourth quarter. Kelley finished the game with 4 points.
Hillmon lead all scorers with 28, followed by Grace Mullen with 9, Sarah Bohn had 8, Annika Corcoran scored 8, and Emma Gurley added 8.

The Lady Lancers advanced to the Final Four of the Division III State Tournament with the victory and will move on to play Africentric Early College at 1:00 PM on March 17 in Columbus, Ohio. The game will be played at the Jerome Schottenstein Center.
