The Greater Cleveland High School Hockey League has announced the results from area coaches for their ‘Stars of the Week,’ players who “above and beyond” their normal play.
Here’s the players chosen by area coaches as stars of the week:
Red League
Kyle Sukenik – North Olmsted
The senior this past week scored 2 goals and 4 assists on the weekend vs. Strongsville and Cleveland Heights, and also scored the overtime winner vs. Cleveland Heights.
White League
Zach Zweriercki – Avon
The senior had a big game against Amherst with 4 goals and 2 assists.
Bobby Zoul – NDCL
Senior goaltender allowed 1 goal while facing 45 shots, winning two games.
Schaffer Berg – Chagrin Falls
In the first league game, Chagrin Falls at Brecksville on Sunday Schaffer had a whopping 6 assists.
David Herpst – Chagrin Falls
David scored 4 goals and had 1 assist at Brecksville on Sunday.
Blue League
Nick Ospelt – Avon Lake
The 9th grader had 4 goals in win over Aurora.
Tommy Kacmarcik – Avon Lake
The freshmen scored 4 points (2G & 2A) in win over North Canton.
Will Holden – Lakewood
Had a hat trick in both of the Rangers division wins this past weekend. Against Brush he had 3 goals and against Elyria Catholic he had 3 goals as well.
Ryan DiRosa – Twinsburg
The junior this week had 7 goals in 2 games.
Daniel Sternen – West Geauga
6 goals and 1 assist in home opener vs Twinsburg on Sunday.
