The Bulldogs opened the 2018-19 campaign with a 76-55 win over the Strongsville Mustangs to retain the Mayor’s Cup.
The Dawgs were led by Eric Hanna with 20 points. Chuck Backus chipped in 14, while Braden Galaska tallied 11. The Bulldogs have a slight layoff until they host Westlake on December 11.
As for Strongsville, the brotherhood went 2 for 3 in Olmsted Falls in the season opener Friday night. In the first game, the freshmen started things off with a hard fought victory, winning by a score of 56-53.
The JV followed with their own nail biter as they too upended the Bulldogs by 3, by a score of 48-45. In the nightcap, the Mustang sweep fell short as the Varsity boys lost by a score of 76-55.
The team goes back to work to prepare for another road game at North Royalton on Tuesday.
