4. LeBron Continues to Praise Brad Stevens
It’s not often we see LeBron spend this much time talking about an opposing coach, but multiple times in this series, the four-time MVP has tipped his cap to Celtics head coach Brad Stevens.
After Game 3, James acknowledged how well Stevens draws up plays coming out of timeouts.
In his Game 4 post-game comments, James talked about how well the Celtics were able to adjust to the loss of star point guard Isaiah Thomas in such a short period of time, crediting the opposing coach again.
“They had to kind of reshape,” James said.
“and that’s the beauty of having Brad Stevens as your coach. You’re able to reshape what you do offensively and still be in a good rhythm. It’s been challenging for us. Plays out of timeout have been killing us on ATOs and keeping us off balance, but in the second half we kind of got a little bit of rhythm, and I think we’ll be better in Game 5.”
For LeBron to make repeated mention of any coach in a series is not something we see on a routine basis and it seems like he believes Stevens is a major reason why these Eastern Conference Finals aren’t over already.
