2. Not Drafting DeShaun Watson with the 12th Pick in the 2017 Draft
Let’s stick with the quarterbacks, as the Browns this season had yet another chance to take a quarterback in the draft, and again in the first round passed, and in turn passed on Clemson star QB DeShaun Watson, who ended up in Houston with the Texans.
The Browns in the draft had already snagged Myles Garrett with number one, but moved down to 25 to take Jabrill Peppers, who has had his struggles at the safety spot thus far in 2017.
Watson became the talk of the league before he tore his ACL in early November, but before then beat the Browns with an impressive performance, and also threw for 19 touchdowns and eight picks, and went 3-3 and looked like a star in the making for the Texans before the injury.
The Browns – they made DeShone Kizer from Notre Dame their pick at the QB spot and named him the starter in camp, and this season he’s looked good at times, but overall the results are not there, throwing for 6 scores and 15 picks and turning the ball over way too much.
