It’s been less than a week than the Browns surprised just about everyone with the release of former Pro Bowl tight end Gary Barnidge, and as expected he’s getting interest around the league.
One team that has interest is the Buffalo Bills, a team that can use another tight end on the roster.
Here’s the tidbit on Barnidge from The Buffalo News:
The Buffalo Bills are in desperate need of quality depth at tight end.
And they could be zeroing in the best available player to provide some in veteran Gary Barnidge.
According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, Barnidge, who the Cleveland Browns released the day after making University of Miami tight end David Njoku the third of their three first-round picks in the NFL Draft.
Barnidge has a connection with Bills coach Sean McDermott. The tight end was with the Carolina Panthers (who made him a fifth-round draft pick from Louisville in 2008) in 2011 and 2012, McDermott’s first two seasons as their defensive coordinator.
The Browns release of the veteran tight end took place on the second day of the NFL Draft.
