The Ohio State Buckeyes have a new quarterbacks coach, as Bruce Feldman of Fox Sports announced that Ryan Day will be named to the position.

Day will not only be the QB coach, but will also work as a coordinator. He takes over for Tim Beck, who left the program to go “pursuing other opportunities,” which reports say is going to work with Tom Herman at Texas.
The 37-year-old Day spent the last season in the NFL, working as the quarterbacks coach for the San Francisco 49ers, who will be looking for new coaches after the firing of coach Chip Kelly.
He was the QB coach for Kelly in Philadelphia in 2015 and moved with him to San Francisco when he was hired there by the 49’ers in January of 2016.
Day is very familiar with the Buckeye program, having worked with head coach Urban Meyer in 2005 as a graduate assistant.
